Thief wanted in 15 cases arrested

The town police have been successful in nabbing a thief who was involved in various theft incidents across the district.

The accused has been identified as Chooti Manja (40) from Channarayapatna. Manja was wanted in more than 15 theft incidents reported under various police station limits in the taluk.

Manja, who was wandering suspiciously, was arrested by the police on night patrol. Manja confessed that he along with two others —  Vishnu and Shanmuga from Bengaluru — had targeted the locked houses and was involved in the crime. Police have recovered gold and silver articles worth lakhs of rupees. Vishnu and Shanmuga are already in judicial custody.
