Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit president Prahlad Joshi on Tuesday said the statements by Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy after the BBMP results are anti-democratic and a great insult to the voters who have voted for BJP.

He was speaking after laying foundation stone for the construction of the party’s office at Vivek Nagar here on Wednesday.  “Kumaraswamy has stated that the people have again voted the corrupt to power and Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the people’s verdict in the BBMP polls is shocking. He is not able to understand why they have elected the BJP,” Joshi observed.

He ridiculed that both the leaders have questioned the intelligence and integrity of the voters. The statement of Kharge reflects the frustration of the Congress party, which will not be able to come out from the recent debacle, Joshi criticised.

Commenting on the statements of Kumaraswamy, Joshi charged that JD(S) is a party of the father, sons and grandsons. “Only in BJP, a common man, son of a teacher, can become a prime minister.  The people of Bengaluru have made Kumaraswamy realise the fact in a hard way,” he observed. Commenting on the ongoing protests regarding Kalasa Banduri project at Navalagund, he suspected that the agitation is motivated by the JD(S).
