Rs three-lakh robbery case busted, seven held

Police have arrested seven accused in connection with a robbery incident at Balohonnur road near Kooduvalli in Aldur police station limits, recently. The accused had stopped a mini lorry and robbed off valuables from the people in the vehicle.

The accused have been identified as Chandra Singh (24), a resident of  Kalludoddi, P Madhu (23), a resident of Vijaypur, C G Kumar (25), a resident of Gowri Kaluve, K U Kiran (21), a resident of Kempanahalli, Dinesh (25), a resident of Hassan, D R Raghu (39), a resident of Kempanahalli and G Mahan (24), a resident of Ramanahalli.

Two motorbikes used for the incident and cash have been seized from the arrested.

Incident

Santhosh, who was working as cashier in Sriram Agency, was returning from Sringeri, after collecting an amount of Rs three lakh, against the goods of various companies, from customers at Balehonnur, Jayapura and Sringeri.

When he reached Kooduvalli neat Aldur, three accused, who rode on a motorbike, stopped the lorry and assaulted Santhosh, Chandra Singh, Shashi and Daul Sab with lethal weapons, robbed money and fled from the spot. A case was registered at Aldur Police Station.

The all accused are said to be friends and were engaged in driving work, merchandise and daily waged works. The accused G Mahan had worked with Sriram Agency as a driver and was well-informed on the working of the agency.

Another main accused Chandra Singh was driving the vehicle and shared the information with others. Police have said that it was a planned robbery.

SP K Santhosh Babu, Additional S P Sanjiv M Patil, DySP Kallappa Handibhag and others led the investigation. Rural Police circle Inspector Vinod Bhat, Aldur police station PSI Prakash, staff ASI Basavaraj, Nandini Shetty, Head Constable G Suresh, J B Adarsh, Umesh Naika, Sukumar, Shivakumar, Bharath, Chandrappa, Constable L D Shashidhar, Shivappa, Ravindra, Lohith and drivers Manjunath and Dayananda were part of the team.
