With this victory, BWSSB completed their league engagements as runners-up and will now be promoted to next season’s ‘A’ Division along with winners Bangalore Mars. While Mars have 17 points, BWSBB were a close one point behind.
BWSSB’s Santosh netted the first goal in the 27th minute, found his brace eight minutes later and had his hat-trick on the hour. Rahul then made 4-0 in the 62nd minute before Sridhar wrapped up a convincing win for BWSSB in six minutes later.
In the day’s other match, Arun scored four goals as MICO dispatched Sri Gajanana 7-0. Arun Rai opened the floodgates in the second minute, before goals from Anup (14th) and Arun (16th, 34th and 39th) made it 5-0 at half-time. Rai scored his second goal in the 47th minute and Arun sealed the seventh in the 65th minute.
