Six-year-old boy crushed to death by U'khand bus

A six-year-old boy was crushed to death by an Uttarakhand state bus near east Delhi's Anand Vihar bus terminus (ISBT) on Friday evening, police said.

According to police, the boy and his parents were waiting for a UP bus on National Highway-14 near the bus depot when the accident took place.

The family was going to their relatives’ home to celebrate Raksha Bandhan.

The child was identified as Ansh, a resident of Sahibabad area, police said.

Around 6 pm, Ansh was waiting for a bus with his father Anuj and other family members when suddenly the speeding Uttarakhand bus hit the minor, leaving him injured. The bus driver sped away from the spot, police said.

The victim's parents made a call to the police control room call after writing down the vehicle’s number, following which police officials came to the spot and took the child to a nearby hospital. He was declared dead on arrival.

A case was lodged at Anand Vihar police station and a search launched to nab the accused.
