Yaduveer plans to make a foray into politics

Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the scion of the royal family of Wadiyars, has expressed his interest in foraying into politics.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, Yaduveer said that he had decided to enter politics, but needed some clarity. “The platform to take a plunge is not yet ready. No political party has contacted me till now,” he said.

On the forthcoming Dasara celebrations, Yaduveer said that he was being acclimatised with the rituals related to Khasagi Durbar by mother Pramoda Devi Wadiyar.

Pramoda Devi said, “The preparations have been started at the Palace.The khasagi durbar will be held keeping with the tradition. However, there is no connection between Dasara conducted at the Palace (by royal family) and the government.

Replying to a question, Pramoda Devi said that the government had been paying a honorarium for availing the Golden Howdah for jamboo savari and no one from the government had contacted the Palace in this regard this time.
