JOIN USMore than 120 vehicles were seized for various violations in an extensive drive conducted by the Transport Department near the Airport Road, Doddaballapur Road, near Hebbal flyover, Manyata Tech Park and surrounding areas on Saturday.
At least 2,000 vehicles, including private vehicles, goods vehicles, buses, maxi cabs and private cars were checked. Many private buses and maxi cabs were booked for plying without permits and other violations; cars were penalised for non-payment of taxes, tinted glasses, defective number plates and for plying without documents such as emission test and insurance certificates.
The drive was headed by Narendra Holkar, Joint Commission for Transport Bengaluru (Urban and Rural), Road Transport Officer of Yelahanka, and other enforcement staff.
