CCB busts fake gold racket

The CCB arrested two persons for selling fake gold biscuits made out of copper. The arrested are: Nathuram, 25 and Pavan Das, 20, both residents of Hesaraghatta Main Road and natives of Balar village, Jaitaran tehsil, Pali district, Rajasthan. Two copper biscuits worth Rs 13 lakh have been recovered from the suspects.

On a tip off, the CCB raided a house at Muddinapalya on Hesaraghatta Main Road and arrested the duo. The two men would lure and dupe people by selling fake gold biscuits.  The suspects would buy copper plates from merchants on SP Road, reshape and polish them like gold biscuits and sell them, said the police.

Chain snatching, 3 held

The CCB arrested three persons, including two members of a notorious Irani gang and recovered two kilograms of stolen gold chains worth Rs 60 lakh. The suspects are: Abuzar Ali, 26, Abul Hassan, 23, both residents of Jannath Nagar, Dharwad and Girish Rajegowda, 38, Karyalaya Layout, Holenarasipura. A black colour pulser bike was also recovered.  
The suspects are under interrogation.
