JOIN USA casual restaurant chain with a festive vibe, ‘TGI Fridays’ is neatly tucked in Lido Mall. Charming lamps hang low and the walls are painted in a bold blend of brown, red and black. An all-day dining joint, ‘TGIF’ is divided into several sections, catering to children, youngsters and families alike.
The place offers spacious and comfortable seating. Rock music can be heard during the day while a DJ sets the tone for the evenings. The vibrant walls are graced with musical instruments, sports equipment, Michael Jackson posters and a Hollywood section.
The restaurant attracts around 300 customers on a daily basis, with the weekends getting crowded. Chef Tanmay Roy explains, “We offer a plethora of choices in appetizers, main course and desserts.” They have a variety ranging from grills and fried food to sauteed dishes. They primarily serve American and Mexican cuisines.
Suresh, the manager, highlights, “We also present several offers and combos to keep the ball rolling. The ‘ultimate tenderloin burger’ and ‘mocha mudpie’ are suggested for first time visitors.”
The ‘spicy chicken wings’ and ‘mozzarella cheese steak’ are delicious and much sought-after here. TGIF also offers a weekly girls night-out break.
“The karaoke sessions organised twice a month are a delight to attend. It’s a pet-friendly eatery and that’s a bonus. The food preparation, however, could be better,” says Indraneel, a customer.
Akshay, a first time customer, echoes the sentiment. “The ambience surpasses the taste of the meals; the presentation of the food can be worked upon.”
Viktoria, a regular, mentions, “I relish the wings. But the setting is unusually dark and dingy. I suggest brighter colours and less dated music.”
