Desilting drive begins

 
Every year artificial floods in open drains cause lot of inconvenience to the people.

The water level in drains in Kohinoor road, Race course Road, Omkareshwara temple road cross the danger limit during heavy rains. As a precautionary measure, the drains are being cleaned. Few years ago, two lives have been lost when the gushing water washed them away in the drains.

TMC President P D Ponnappa said “the work on removing the silt from a drain on Race course road began on Thursday. All the drains will be cleaned before monsoon.”

BJP district President M P Sunil Subramani, Madikeri Development Authority President A K Palaksha were present.
