One more body found under debris

The recovered body was identified as that of the building watchman. With this, the death toll in the incident has gone up to 21.

The severed hands of Mohammad Ali, who was pulled out of the building on January 27 by amputating his hands but succumbed to his injuries, were also recovered.

Legislator G Somashekar Reddy said there may still be three more bodies in the debris. The demolition work would be completed on Wednesday, he added.

Compensation

Labour Minister B N Bache Gowda announced that a compensation of Rs 50,000 will be paid from the Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to the families of victims. As many as 21 people died and 19 were injured in the incident. The injured will be paid Rs 10,000 each.
