Stop commenting on regional line says Meira Kumar

"The best way to put an end to this thing (regional rhetoric) is to stop commenting over it," Kumar told reporters after she was repeatedly asked to comment over Shiv Sena and MNS' campaigning for 'Marathi Manoos' in Mumbai.

However, she said that citizens were free to live anywhere in the country.
"All Indians are patriots", Kumar, who inaugurated the 74th conference of presiding officers of legislative bodies from all over the country underway here said.
When asked whether organisation like Shiv Sena and Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena should be banned, she refused to comment.
Asked about MP Jaya Prada's fate in Parliament after her expulsion from Samajwadi Party, the Lok Sabha Speaker remarked, "let the papers come to my table".
According to the practise, the actor-turned politician from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh will continue to remain as member of the Lok Sabha, she said.

To a poser, Kumar said, "we are worried over the price rise as people, especially poor and those living below poverty line, have been affected by it.
"The members have raised this issue which has been debated and discussed," the Lok Sabha Speaker said.
Asked to comment over the reports of misuse and non-utilisation of MP Development Funds, she said that this thing needs to be monitered.
