'If prosecuted, DKS will have to stay in jail for 100 years'

Social activist S R Hiremath charged that Energy Minister D K Shivakumar is a gold medallist and a student of the criminal academy started by former chief minister S M Krishna.

Speaking at an interaction with media persons here on Friday, he alleged that such corrupt people were encouraged during the tenure of Krishna. They have grown like an octopus engulfing the whole administration, he charged.

Hiremath said he has submitted a 10,000-page report on the illegal activities of Shivakumar to the Supreme Court. Even after famous lawyer Prashant Bhushan arguing against him, the stay order against the probe has not been lifted.

“There are several assumptions behind it. With Supreme Court Judge Dattu retiring in December, struggle against Shivakumar will take a new dimension. If Shivakumar is prosecuted for his illegal activities, he will have to stay in jail for a minimum of hundred years,” Hiremath said.

Upa Lokayukta issue

“The Siddaramaiah government has recommended the name of K L Manjunath for the third time for the post of Upa Lokayukta. What is the secret behind it?” he questioned.

While the High Court proceedings come to an end by four in the evening, a judge had conducted an inquiry related to a land mafia up to 5.20 pm. Even the judiciary is corrupt and there are several examples to prove it, Hiremath said.

He alleged that the chief minister has become helpless amid those who are corrupt. Siddaramaiah, who had promised a corruption-free administration has failed, deceiving people, he said.
