Deep in debt, couple end lives

A couple committed suicide by consuming poison at their residence in Kengeri Satellite town on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the deceased, Ramesh and Rashmi, were residing in an apartment and were married for 13 years. They owned a printing press and have a 11-year-old son, Hrithik.

Around 8.30 pm, the couple consumed poison and collapsed. Hrithik noticed them lying motionless and informed his relatives, who rushed them to a private hospital.

The doctors there directed them to a speciality hospital. By the time the couple were shifted to BGS Hospital, they were declared brought dead. Relatives said inability to repay the loan might have pushed them to take the extreme step. Kengeri police have registered a case.
