In a sneak preview of things to come, Microsoft chief executive officer Satya Nadella said that the company is working on a world without passwords.

“One of the biggest issues of security is passwords. So one of things that we are working on is a world where passwords are not going to be the ones that are going to get hacked but you really have other biometrics that really help us secure our computing interfaces,” Nadella said, while speaking at the Microsoft Future Unleashed event.

According to Nadella, Microsoft has three interlocking ambitions.

“For us, we have three interlocking ambitions, and I call them ambitions because it is a technology agenda that is going to be realised in multiple years. The first is about reinvention of productivity and business process,” Nadella said. The second is about building out an intelligent cloud, and the third would be about more personal computing, new types of computing and new types of computers, Nadella added. He also said that the company is looking forward to empowering every individual and organisation.

“We had a mission of putting a personal computer on every desk in every home but in retrospect that was a goal. Our mission was to empower every individual and organisation and that is really what I look at as we are going forward,” Nadella said.

“Every successful company has a core, a core sensibility, and a sense of purpose. For us at Microsoft, it is about empowering every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more and that is the sense of purpose that we have,” Nadella added.

Surface Pro 4 soon
The Microsoft chief also had some good news for all gadget geeks across the country by announcing that Surface Pro 4 is going to be launched in India soon. “We are very excited about our new Surface launch and the new Surface devices. We have lots of demand for it in India and we are now announcing that by January, we will have the Surface Pro 4 in India,” Nadella said.
