Karnad should return Jnanpith, says Muthalik

Shree Ram Sena chief Pramod Muthalik has condemned Janpith awardee Girish Karnad for his reported remarks against Kempegowda.

Addressing mediapersons here on Wednesday, Mutalik said, a day after Karnad had stoked a controversy, he has appoligised for his remarks against Kempegowda. Although Karnad had tendered an apology, it was insufficient. He demanded the litterateur to return back his Jnanpith award.

He said that Karnad was competing with the State government and was marching ahead in appeasing the Muslims. By stating that Kempegouda was not a freedom fighter, Karnad had shown that he was intolerant and had violated the provisions of Article 48.
