No matter how time and effort consuming it is, every year visiting the Trade Fair and spending an entire day at Pragati Maidan, is something one cannot and shall not resist.

When the 35th edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) kicked off on November 14, people visited the pavilion ground with zest in search of something new from their neighbouring states and countries.

With the Make in India campaign as the theme of the trade fair, one can look out for exclusive projects, campaigns, products, textiles, apparel made and created in India.
All the pavilions have separate entry and exit gates. So once you enter a pavilion, you can only step out after walking through the various indigenous offerings of
the state.

To begin with, the Madhya Pradesh pavilion includes everything from hand-spun vibrant sarees to films shot in Madhya Pradesh.

Right behind it lies the Haryana  pavilion with massive installations on the outside and the inside. The attempt is to show swachh, skilled, smart and digital Harayana progressing over the years. Move a little further, and right in the middle lies the bright ‘new face of changing Delhi’. The pavilion highlights the city’s convenient transport system in Delhi. Training, empowerment and safety of women, the city’s heritage, forts, accessories and apparel are also included in it.

The Odisha pavilion amongst others, is also one to look out for. Grand sand art by Subala Maharana at the entrance is an additional facet of Odisha’s culture and art. The life size art works pays homage to the recent Paris attack victims and also Odisha’s people and traditions. The art work will push one to go inside, and be informed about this state far away from the city.

Besides these magnificent and artistically created pavilions, another exciting thing for Delhiites is the comeback of Maggie. Mini stalls selling the comfort food at every 100 metres is surely to make your day at the Trade Fair a memorable one.

So this trade fair watch out for ethnic India, exclusive India and regional India. It is much more than shopping and eating out on your favourite food joints!
