A 31-year-old construction labourer died after his bike skidded off the road near Rachenahalli Cross in Chikkajala traffic police station limits on Tuesday night.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Vinod Kumar, a resident of Begur.
The accident occurred when he was returning home from work. As the road was slippery due to rain, the bike skidded off and Kumar was dragged for a few metres.
Passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was proclaimed brought dead. Since he was not wearing a helmet, he suffered serious head injuries, said the police.
A case has been registered at the Chikkajala traffic police station.
