Manipaddy report to be tabled during joint session

Last Updated 18 November 2015, 19:28 IST

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had assured that the recommendations of the Anwar Manipaddy commission would be placed before the House during the joint session to be held during January or February, said S R Patil, in the Legislative Council on Wednesday.

Following the Business Advisory Committee meeting chaired by Siddaramaiah, Patil informed the House that the report will be submitted for certain during the next session, and requested the BJP MLCs to withdraw their protest.

Earlier in the day, BJP member G Madhusudhan had demanded that the report should be tabled immediately. The State government, in its affidavit before the High court, had said that it would submit the report during the winter session. But so far the report has not been placed, he added. He also staged a dharna in the well of the House.

Go Madhusudhan was not convinced. Demanding that the government place the report during this session itself, he walked back into the well of the House. He was later pacified by the Chairman.
