Drunk-driving led to the death of two MBA students in an accident off Anekal-Chandapura Road around 4.30 am on Thursday. Three others were hurt.

The students aged 21-23 were returning home around 4.30 am after attending the birthday party of one of them, identified as Krishna. He agreed to drop them.

Krishna who was at the wheel lost control over it. He was not only drunk but also drove rashly, crashing the car into a tree, a senior police officer said, quoting eyewitnesses.

The collision was so powerful that two of his classmates — Dhruva and Ashwin — met with sudden death while the rest were wounded grievously.

The two other injured have been identified as Anjum and Prithvi. The car bears a Rajasthan registration number and police are trying to trace its owner. Dhruva and Ashwin hailed from Andhra Pradesh. All the five were students at Alliance University near Anekal.
