<p>The Maddur Town police have arrested four people and seized four trucks in connection with illegal sand mining near here, on Saturday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>On tip-off, police arrested truck drivers - Sagar and Kumaraswamy and loaders - Tejas and Kumar. Police have seized trucks in K Kodihalli, Kabbare and Hulikere villages and seized sand worth Rs 40,000. Police are searching for other people involved in the case. <br /><br />The suspects were transporting sand, illegally extracted from the Shimsha riverbed in the trucks. The local court has remanded the arrested in judicial custody. <br />Police are conducting further investigation.<br /></p>
