Mahindra Comviva, which is in the B2B and B2C mobility space, has now forayed into the mobile Direct-to-Consumer space (D2C) space with the launch of Zerch, which is a mobile-first hyperlocal deals discovery platform. Mahindra Comviva is a subsidiary of Tech Mahindra and a part of the $16.5-billion Mahindra Group.

Zerch was launched in Bengaluru four months ago, and two months later it was launched in Delhi-NCR.

Speaking about the hyperlocal discovery platform that connects merchants and consumers, Srinivas Nidugondi, senior VP and head of Mobile Financial Solutions, Mahindra Comviva, said that consumers are digitally empowered today and expect to be served at any time and place of their choice.

“Consumers need to get what’s relevant to them and at the same time merchants should also get additional revenues,” he says, adding Zerch is created to cater to the need of finding the best deals anywhere and at anytime. It provides a personalised experience where users are notified of offers based on their current location.

Zerch has crossed 1.5 lakh active users with 2,800-odd merchants. It has partnered with brands like Burger King, Pizza Hut, and Ferns N Petals, among others, to provide offers that are exclusively curated for Zerch users.

“Our next focus will be even more specific microlocal approach to reach out to consumers. The plan is to take contextual marketing messaging in stores to the next level by leveraging on the online-to-offline (O2O) wave. We are working on this and will roll it out in another two to three months,” he informed.
