An armed constable of the City Armed Reserve unit here committed suicide by shooting himself in his throat with his service rifle at the Syndicate Bank’s currency chest on Neeligin Road early Friday morning.
The deceased Suleman Bashasab Sundargeri (41), a native of Uppinbetageri village in Dharwad taluk, was on sentry duty when he took the extreme step.
Police Commissioner Pandurang Rane said Sundargeri locked himself inside the bank’s chest and ended his life around 5.30 am.
In the death note, he has stated that he was disturbed over some personal problems, Rane added.
