JOIN USA father-son duo was killed in a road accident on National Highway-4 at Chokkasandra Junction near T Dasarahalli in Peenya traffic police limits on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Nagaraju (58) and his son Manjunath (35), both roadside food vendors near Kanteerava stadium and residents of Mallasandra Pipe Line Road, said the police.
The accident took place when they were returning home on a bike around 11.45 pm. The speeding truck which was coming from Nelamangala rammed into the bike when Manjunath, who was riding the bike, approached the Chokkasandra junction and was trying to take a U-turn.
Manjunath was thrown up in the air, fell down, suffered massive head injuries and was killed on the spot, while Nagaraju succumbed to his injuries some time after he was admitted to Nimhans, said the police.
The truck driver abandoned the truck on the spot and fled. The truck is registered in Maharashtra and has been seized by the police. The Peenya traffic police are searching for the driver.
