People haven't forgotten my contributions: Former PM

People have not forgotten my contributions as prime minister. People are also aware of the development works executed by H D Kumaraswamy as chief minister and H D Revanna as minister, so the people’s representatives will vote for JD(S) in the interest of the district, said former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, here, on Sunday.

He was speaking to media persons at the Taluk Panchayat office after casting his vote, along with his son Revanna, in the election to the Legislative Council from the Hassan
District local bodies constituency.

“Due to age-related problems, I could not tour the entire State. However, Kumara- swamy has toured the whole State. On the basis of my tour in eight districts, I am hopeful of positive results in a majority of the constituencies. Some parties and candidates are luring
the voters by wrong means. But, in Hassan district, the people’s representatives have spent their own money to canvass for our party candidate,” he said.

He said, the JD(S) will fight the upcoming Taluk Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat elections independently.

“We will field candidates in all TPs and ZPs in the State and then I will tour the entire State to rejuvenate the party,” he added.

Earlier, the father-son duo had visited the Mavinakere Ranganathaswamy and Lakshminarasimhaswamy temples. All the TP and Town Municipal Council members came together to cast their votes in the town.
