Prohibitory orders near counting centres

Bengaluru City police commissioner N S Megharik has imposed prohibitory orders under IPC Section 144, between 6 am and 6 pm, within a one-kilometre radius of Maharani Science College and Government RC College, where Council poll votes will be counted on Wednesday.

The commissioner has imposed prohibitory orders to ensure law and order prevails and peace is maintained during the counting process.

Gathering banned
The assembly of more than five persons, carrying of lethal weapons and sticks or any
materials that could harm human beings, transportation and storage of explosives and missiles, burning effigies and making provocative speeches and gestures has been banned, said the commissioner.
