Let's Thai it out!

Last Updated 01 January 2016, 18:29 IST

The latest addition to the list of fine dining places in the City is Asia Kitchen by Mainland China, which is located in Koramangala 5th Block on Jyoti Nivas College Road. With a Pan-Asian cuisine, one can try out various delicacies from Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and China among others.

“Although the place is just one-month-old, we are getting a great response. We already have seven Mainland China outlets in Bengaluru so we thought of converting one of the outlets into a different restaurant. And Koramangala being a food hub, it was a good option to start a new restaurant,” says Santanu Karmakar, Business Manager, Southern region.

Coming to the menu, you can start your meal with the ‘Tom Kha’ soup, a delicacy from Thailand which has a coconut milk base, flavoured with galangal kafir lime and lemon grass.

While you are enjoying the soup, ask for the Thai green papaya salad, a delicacy from Thailand, which includes raw papaya salad with Thai bird chilli sauce, crushed peanut and cherry tomatoes and beans.

For starters, you can go for a plate of ‘spinach sesame gyoza’, a Japanese delicacy, which is mainly a pan-fried dumpling stuffed with spinach and roasted peanuts, and served with dimsum sauce. There is also the choice of crispy vegetables with oriental spices, which is a Chinese delicacy, or crispy lotus stem with black pepper and curry leaves  — a Malaysian delicacy; chicken satay, and barbecued pepper chicken.

For the main course, you can go for lemon grass fried rice and Asia greens which has stir-fried broccoli, zucchini, asparagus, bokchoy, snow peas tossed with white garlic sauce and the Thai green curry chicken. Complete your meal by ordering a dessert tray that includes the coconut caramel custard, brownie and a portion of honey noodles with orange, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

As far as the music is concerned, though the playlist includes the latest English numbers, soft instrumental tracks would give a better feel of the ambience.
