Madikeri school enters divisional finals of PV quiz

S S Goutham and J S Akshay Bharadwaj of General Thimmaiah Public School of Madikeri emerged winners in the division-level Prajavani quiz competition held at the Platinum Jubilee Hall of the Mysuru Medical College and Research Institute, here, on Thursday.

They had won the third prize in the division-level competition held last year.
The competition was held as a part of the State-level Prajavani quiz championship being held from January 6 to 16.

The division-level winners will compete in the finals, scheduled to be conducted by actor Ramesh Aravind at Bengaluru, on January 16.

General Thimmaiah Public School was the only team from outside Mysuru that made it to the divisional finals. Six teams of two students each were selected from 233 teams from 87 schools that took part in the preliminary written quiz for the finals.

Mansi Pai and S H Bhargav of St Joseph’s Central School came close, but had to be
content with the second place. Pranav M Koundinya and P Ayush of Kautilya Vidyalaya stood third as a result of a tie-breaker with St Joseph’s Central School team.

H S Ruthvik Patel and Srivardhan Bhat of Bharatiya Vidyabhavan; Ruthvik Rohan and P R Chandan of Kautilya Vidyalaya and G Vidyasagar and Anirudh of Hari Vidyalaya were presented with consolation prizes.

All the participants received participation certificates.

Besides, snacks and lunch was provided to all the participants.

Earlier, Additional Regional Commissioner M R Ravi inaugurated the competitions.
He, along with Mohit Mathur of Allen Career Institute and Joint Director for Public Instruction B K Basavaraju, presented the medals and certificates to the winners.
