Hailing from a small town Darbhanga in Bihar, Aishwarya Sushmita recently got the title ‘Calender Girl’ after she won the reality show “Kingfisher Supermodels 3”, aired on NDTV Goodtimes.

But being an inter-university boxer and a national level Badminton player, the 21-year-old never thought of taking modelling as career.

“I always wanted to be a civil servant, but after taking part in Miss India contest, I wanted to give it a try. And with the support of my parents, I could get into the profession with optimism,” she tells Metrolife.

Sushmita also won the title of ‘Miss Timeless Beauty’ in Miss Delhi competition, 2014. She was the ‘Miss Congeniality’ in Miss North India Princess, 2014 and managed to be in the top six contestants in Miss India campus Princess, 2015.

“Modelling was an unexpected turning point in my life. Though I participated in many pageants and won different titles, but it was only after I got selected for the Kingfisher Supermodels, my confidence boosted,” she adds.

The show, which included demanding tasks like cobweb, aeriel, underwater, was “full of friendships and adventure” for Sushmita.

“The days on the show were extremely hectic, but I loved each and every moment of it. Though the tasks were full of risks and challenges, I made sure that I gave my best and got the best,” she says, adding that it was the best fascination she ever did.
Like many aspiring models, Sushmita too dreams of getting into Bollywood.

“If I will get any chance to get into Bollywood, I will be glad and happy enough. I feel modelling is a good way to work on my acting skills which can be helpful to get into the industry,” she says.

Although, the aspiring actress believes that modelling as career is a challenge in India. “One has to be prepared mentally and physically to come out successful. Being patient and confident is the key of being a good model,” she says.

So what next for her?
“I think it is the best for me to make the most of this moment. Since I am not much of a planner, I prefer going with a flow. Let’s see what destiny has in store for me.”
