Last Updated 08 January 2016, 20:24 IST

Taking objection to the delay in appointment of a chairperson to the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), Congress MLA S T Somashekar has sought Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to appoint an honest and eligible candidate to the post at the earliest.

In a letter addressed to the chief minister, Somashekar said the post has been vacant ever since the Congress government came to power, which is not only affecting the day-to-day functioning of the Commission, but also affected administration across the State. “There are allegations of corruption against members, and irregularities in the recruitments done by KPSC. Hence the government should appoint an honest person so that the reputation of the KPSC is restored.

A large number of talented and meritorious youths are disappointed due to the
delay in appointing the chairperson for the KPSC,” the letter states.
