Top CPM leader held on molestation charges

In Tripura, a ruling Left Front leader was arrested on Thursday on molestation charges.

Former CPM MLA Manoranjan Acharjee was arrested a day after Tripura Assembly witnessed uproarious scenes over the opposition’s demand for his arrest. Acharjee has been sent to fours day judicial remand by a local court on Saturday.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar who is also the Home Minister of the only communist ruled state in the country has reportedly asked the state police that it should act according to law and not under any duress, police sources added.
