JD(U) stalwarts may find difficult to re-enter RS

Last Updated 12 January 2016, 20:19 IST

JD-U stalwarts  may find it difficult for their re-entry to the Rajya Sabha. Except JD-U chief Sharad Yadav, four of  the five outgoing MPs – Pavan Kumar Verma, K C Tyagi, R C P Sinha and Ghulam Rasool Baliyavi, no one is sure about his re-nomination because only two seats are available to the party.

Strength in the Assembly only permits the JD-U and the RJD to elect two nominees and the BJP one. Lalu’s RJD will send one nominee from his family and one is to be picked up from outside.

“No one can is sure about the nomination except party chief Sharad Yadav. The elections are to be held in April this year and no one knows what would be choice then,” said a senior leader .

The names that are taking rounds include Prashant Kishore, the man who is being credited with managing the high profile election campaign in Bihar. Many leaders believe that he may get a chance to enter Parliament. However, some others do not agree and says that he may be given some other post.
