The captain of the India under-19 cricket team Ishan Kishan was roughed by an irate mob after his car hit an autorickshaw in Kankarbagh area here.
Two passengers, including a woman and a young girl, sustained injuries after the collision. Infuriated locals slapped Ishan and his three friends.
Later, a police team rushed to the spot and took the youths to the police station. Ishan told the cops that he, along with his friends, were on the way to meet a family friend when his car collided with the autorickshaw.
Ishan’s father Pradeep Pandey, who is into real estate, was summoned to the police station. Pandey pacified the agitating mob and agreed to reimburse the expenses required to repair the auto. He also agreed to bear the cost of treatment of the two injured women.
Kankarbagh station house officer (SHO) V K Mishra said after the aggrieved parties agreed to a mutual settlement, no case was lodged.
