Fondue for two

Warm up this cold winter to a cosy mealtime at ‘Café Mangii’. With its much loved and long awaited Fondue Festival — a fondue affair — the city’s favourite café is back with the best fondue in town.

European by birth and loved by all, the fondue has found its home in the cafe that prepares it in its most delicious and varied forms. The menu is fresh and revamped, bringing together special combinations and rare flavours. For those who like it the classic way, there’s the ‘Traditional Swiss’ — made exactly the way it’s in its purest form –— with gruyere, Swiss cheese, white wine, nutmeg and fresh lemon or fruit brandy.

Indulge in ‘Chocolate Baileys’, a delicious fondue that brings marshmallows and a medley of fruits together. The ‘Cracked Nut Ashen’ is an exotic combination of white chocolate ganache, roasted nuts and an array of fruits. The tantalising ‘Pimentos’ combines sharp cheddar, emmenthal, parmesan and sweet peppers — giving the cheesy fondue a touch of sweet.

The ‘Stewed Fondue’ is sharp, flavoured with muddled confit garlic, sweet paprika, gruyere and gouda. The feisty ‘Fiesta Fondue’ revels in a Mexican twist to the fondue with Mexican yellow cheddar, jalapeno, juniper berries, cilantro salsa and tortilla chips. For a taste of the European life, there’s the ‘Countryside Green fondue’ that brings you cheddar, Monterey jack, brie, spinach and home ground mustard.

The ‘Blue Brie’ is a must-try, with gruyere, brie and gorgonzola — a rare treat you’re unlikely to find anywhere else! All fondues come with an assortment of ‘Herbed Brioche Croutons’ or a medley of fruits, for you to dip and savour your piping hot pot of heaven! If you want to give your own twist to your fondue, add on extra toppings like broccoli, mushrooms, jalapenos, chicken sausages, herbed chicken or pepperoni prawns!
The Fondue Festival is on till February 14 at the Orion Mall and its UB City outlet.
