A 33-year-old housewife was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Brindavanagar, KG Halli, on Friday.

The police gave the name of the deceased as Amudha alias Madhu. They said she had married Pradip, employee of a private firm, a few years ago and the couple were residing in the ground floor of a building.

At around 2.30 pm on Friday, Madhu went to the second floor of the building, which is still under construction. As there are no railings or a wall, Madhu lost her balance and fell down, the police said.

On hearing the sound, Pradip, who was having his lunch, came out of the house and found his wife lying on the ground.

He found her still breathing and rushed her to hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

Pradip informed his in-laws about his wife’s death. However, her parents who arrived at the hospital accused Pradip of murdering his daughter and lodged a police complaint against him.

“There were no external injuries on the body. We are waiting for the postmortem report to ascertain the cause of the death. Pradip claims she accidentally fell from the building, while Madhu’s parents allege she was killed by Pradip as he has been torturing her for a long time. Based on the postmortem report, we will take further action,” said a senior police officer.

The KG Halli police have registered a case.
