A passenger of a private was run over by a BMTC bus after the conductor of the private bus pushed him out of the vehicle following a spat on Bannerghatta Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Around 3 pm on Tuesday, Khan and his friend Jamal came to City Market after attending some personal work at Bismillah Nagar. Later, they decided to go to Mico Layout. They boarded a private bus from City Market and bought tickets to Mico Layout.

As they reached Bannerghatta road, Khan asked the bus conductor Sudhakar Reddy to tender the change. Reddy had to give him Rs 4 but was evasive. Khan started arguing with Reddy and asked him to give the money. An argument soon broke out and the two got into a fight.

In a fit of rage, Reddy pushed Khan out of the bus. As the door was not locked, Khan fell on the road. A BMTC bus which was coming from behind ran over Khan, killing him on the spot.

The private bus driver Shivakumar and conductor Sudhakar Reddy and BMTC bus driver Murthy were arrested. A case has been registered in Mico Layout traffic police station.
