Liquor ban tomorrow

In view of the panchayat elections scheduled for February 13, all bars, pubs and wine stores in the City will remain closed from 7 am on February 12 to February 13 midnight, according to a notification issued by the Commissionerate of Police and the District Magistrate of Bengaluru.

The notification stated that the prohibition had been ordered on the sale, consumption, procurement and storage of liquor, wine or arrack in wholesale or retail outlets.

People are also not allowed to carry firearms and dangerous weapons on February 12 from 7 am to 12 midnight on February 13. Prohibition will come into effect in constituencies where the zilla, taluk panchayat elections will be held.
