JOIN USBangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) Chief Engineer Kemparamaiah has challenged the extension of service of the water board’s Engineer-in-Chief S Krishnappa in the High Court of Karnataka.
The petitioner has contended that Krishnappa has been granted extension of service for a period of three months despite the fact that his retirement was due on January 31, 2016.
The petitioner further argued that as per the BWSSB Cadre, Recruitment and Promotion Regulations, 2004, the post of engineer-in-chief should be filled by promotion from the cadre of chief engineers in the service of the Board.
He had claimed that Krishnappa had been shown favouritism. He had sought the court to restrain the government from extending the services of Krishnappa.
