JOIN USTamil Nadu sports minister Dr Sundararaj found himself in the middle of a controversy after a video purportedly showing him visiting a girls’ hostel at midnight went viral.
The video showed the minister rile at young hockey players, asking them why the government pay for them if they are not winning medals. The minister was also seen commenting on girls’ physical appearance.
At one point in the video, he was seen touching a girl’s jersey, asking her, “have you gained weight? Do you know how much the government is spending on you?”
Even as he asked inappropriate questions, the minister said to have checked the students’ belongings.
Political leaders including PMK supremo Ramadoss have condemned the minister’s visit to the hostel in the night in breach of the rules. They asked the state government to take action against the minister for his abusive behaviour during the visit.
