Shot by Adugodi police inspector Sharana Gowda, who was leading a police squad to arrest him, Ramesh was injured in his left arm and was rushed to the Victorial Hospital.

The inspector told Deccan Herald: “Around 1 pm, we got information that Ramesh is moving around in the area. Around five of us spotted the accused coming out of the public toilet.

Though we were in plain clothes, he was quick to identify us and took out his knife and dagger. He attacked and pushed me and another constable. Before he could escape, I took out the weapon and fired at him.”

For the last two decades, Ramesh is wanted in more than 40 cases in the City itself. Many cases are pending in Kalasipalya, Madiwala, Girinagar, Wilson Garden, Siddapura and other police stations in Bangalore South and South-East.
