Ouster attempt: Justice Adi files appeal in HC

 Upalokayukta Justice Subhash B Adi, who is now on leave, has filed a writ appeal before the High Court challenging the single bench order which had dismissed his petition. 

Justice Adi in his petition had questioned the legality of the motion adopted by the Legislative Assembly “before verifying valid reasons and sufficient grounds” for his ouster. The single judge had dismissed his petition on the grounds that the petition was not maintainable as the State government submitted to the court that the motion to remove the Upalokyukta has been ‘admitted’ and the Speaker has referred the matter to the Chief Justice of Karnataka for further investigation.
The appeal is pending admission before the court.
