Visit the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here in the City on Wednesday to get a first hand glimpse of how weather is recorded.<br /><br />The IMD, will host the 68th edition of World Meteorological Day on March 23 at its head office in Palace Road. The theme this year is ‘Hotter, Drier, Wetter- Face the Future’.<br /><br />There will be many exhibits on display on the day and a series of lectures on the theme will also be organised. Visitors can get a first hand glimpse on recording weather readings and will be allowed to accompany IMD staff while taking weather readings at 11.30 am, 2.30 pm and 5 pm, IMD- Bengaluru Director Geeta Agnihotri told Deccan Herald. A talk on Satellite based Agro- Meteorology will delivered be by PP Nageshwar Rao, retired senior ISRO scientist and a talk on climate change will be made by Ramakrsihna Damble from Bengaluru University. <br /><br />The number of exhibits explaining weather, history and other details have increased from 12 to 20, this time.
