When media persons drew his attention to the Turf Club's comment that time given is too short to wind up, the CM said, "If they can’t shift within the time, let them close the business for four months. But it must stop the racing activities by December-end failing which stringent action will be taken".

Attractive structure

Asked how the government would intend to utilize the premises once the Club moves out, the CM said 90 per cent of it would remain as open space. But an attractive structure may be put up to attract global tourists, he added.

When a reporter pointed out that his party government is not giving primacy for development of Bangalore and in particular the metro rail project, Yeddyurappa argued that the metro work is progressing well and a 7 km stretch of the track will be ready in a year's time.

He insisted that it is obvious that a lot of development work is on in the City.  "You go around the city and see the work being done. Four more hospitals and mini Lal Baghs are coming up, Beggars Colony will be relocated, parks and underpasses are being constructed", he said.
