Student shot at US varsity

The wounded student at Northern Illinois University was taken to a hospital and the suspect is in custody, said the University, where just over two years ago a disturbed student shot 21 people.

“NIU Public Safety officials are stating that the event appears to be an isolated incident between two individuals, and that the alleged assailant is in police custody,” the university said. The shooting occurred around 3:30 am and the campus was shut down. But later, the campus was re-opened and the university said classes would be held as scheduled on Friday.
