<p>A 30-year-old person was beaten to death near Laggere circle in Rajagopalanagar police limits on Tuesday night.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The police said that the deceased has been identified as Chandrashekar who was residing with his wife and children in Laggere. He was an employee with a cardboard-manufacturing factory. <br /><br />According to police, when Chandrashekar was walking back home on around 11 pm, a few unidentified men attacked with an iron rod. He died of head injuries. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when the people found him lying in a pool of blood and informed the police. <br /><br />During the investigation, it was learnt that Chandrashekar was a habitual drinker and used to go home every night, inebriated. <br /><br />His wife, Padma, had complained about his behaviour to her relatives who had warned him. They had also visited his factory and told a staff member that if he (Chandrashekhar) continued to drink and pick fights at home, he would be killed. <br /><br />Based on the information, a few of them have been detained and an investigation is being carried out, added the police.
