The DMK has allotted four seats for the dalit outfit Puthiya Tamizhagam for the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

A deal between DMK chief M Karunanidhi and Puthiya Tamizhagam’s founder-president Dr K Krishnasamy was reached at a meeting on Thursday, after which Krishnasamy said his party would decide the four seats once he consults with party workers on Friday.

DMK treasurer MK Stalin said his party will announce seats identified to all the partners. “Some more parties are willing to join (the alliance),” Stalin added. The latest seat sharing announcement comes after DMK agreed to apportion 41 seats to its major ally Congress.
