In a sign of conditions turning unbearable, 39 mandals of Andhra Pradesh have been declared under severe heat wave, while 140 mandals experience heat wave.
According to a government release severe heat wave conditions will continue in at least 34 mandals and moderate conditions prevail over remaining parts of Andhra Pradesh in the coming 48 hours.
State government has cautioned people not to venture outside between 10 am and 5 pm to avoid sunstroke, while municipalities and panchayats have been putting up hoardings at market places carrying instructions on avoiding sunstroke and other heat related ailments.
Besides drinking water and buttermilk allowances, work places have also been erecting temporary shelters for workers to rest.
