The deceased is Anand Rao (63), a resident of Gujjarakere region. It all happened when Palemar decided to visit Gujjarakere tank after holding an official meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
As the officials and minister arrived at the spot, a few members of the public explained the problems of the region and Rao too was one among them. Apparently, Rao was too happy that the tank is being rejuvenated.
“If not for me, at least for the future generation, the revival of tank will help,” he had reportedly told the minister. Minutes later, he collapsed reportedly due to a massive heart attack. Even before he was shifted to hospital, he died.
