Officers of the Customs Air Intelligence Unit of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Thursday seized eight gold biscuits, weighing about 933.12gm, valued at about Rs 28.26 lakh. This is the second seizure in the last three days at the airport.

The officers intercepted two passengers hailing from Bhatkal. They were identified as Mohammed Asim, 28, and Mohammed Faiq Jabali, aged about 32 years. They had landed at KIA from Muscat by an Oman Air flight WY 0283.

Both the suspects claimed they were employed in Dubai and were attempting to smuggle the gold biscuits by concealing the valuables in their rectum. Two days ago, a woman was caught for a similar offence at the airport.
