JOIN USA person was killed after lightning struck him at Yarikoppa village located eight kilometre from Dharwad taluk late on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Kallappa Amminbhavi (48). Police said the incident occurred when Kallappa was returning home after his day’s work in the fields. As it began to rain, Kallappa took shelter under a tree and a lightning struck him, killing him on the spot.
His body was spotted by the family members on Saturday morning. A case has been registered at the rural police station.
